Where to look for boxing shoes?
Right! We can box in normal shoes, can't we? Why do boxers wear boots instead of shoes, anyhow? Many beginners ask themselves this question since good boots are pretty expensive. It's also hard to fit them since they aren't available in regular sporting goods stores. Buying them by mail order is somewhat risky because even the most well known brands like Title, Everlast and Nike can fit awkwardly compared to normal shoes. Everybody's ankles are shaped differently so it's hard to find those that fit well. And the price tag of around 200 bucks makes one think ... shouldn't I just quit boxing and do barefoot Thaiboxing? The best way to find boxing boots is to visit a speciality sports store for boxing and martial arts. Some gyms do sell them, too. Unfortunately, gyms are often limited to just one brand like Ringside or Title. Looking for a good martial arts store may also help. If they carry kickboxing stuff they are most likely to sell boxing equimpment, too.
